EPI - Echo Planar Imaging

Echo Planar Imaging (EPI) is a fast magnetic resonance imaging sequence, in which the whole k-space can be acquired in a single shot. One volume of the brain can be acquired in less than 3 seconds, making it the ideal choice for techniques which require the acquisition of high numbers of images (functional MRI - fMRI, Diffusion Tensor Imaging - DTI).
